Texas justice advocates are surveying Texas voters interested in criminal justice and prison reform. Voters are asked to note their main areas of interest for prison and criminal justice reform, as well as make a commitment to vote. Respondents are also asked if they will be willing to reach out to candidates in their home districts, requesting their responses to VoGue candidate surveys. There is still time for YOU to be counted in the voter survey, if you have not already done so. If you previously responded to the survey, please do not do so again.
Respondents to the VoGue voter survey can select from a list of concerns, as many as desired. The issues include:
* Bail reform
* Climate control for prison living areas
* Earned Time Credits
* Harsh housing laws affecting some returning citizens and their families
* Improve quality and number of prison correctional staff by providing better pay and better initial and ongoing training
* Independent oversight for TDCJ
* Parole reform
* Prison programs, including education, trades, mental health/family relationships, religious, etc.
* Quality of prison medical care
* Second Look for juvenile offenders
* Sentencing reform
* State funding for mental health treatment
* State funding for substance abuse treatment
